Greetings Matt. It is very interesting that you can write, right up front, that you were expecting to have to bribe your way to Jos. Nevertheless, the officials have allowed you and the driver to pass without having to pay. It is indeed with a “surprising ease”. Question for you: did the stereotype that you carried through your journey prove right or wrong? I hope that the Hausa songs and the majestic cultures of this brilliant country will change your views on Africa.

Thanks to sfcg,other related NGO’s and individuals who leave the comfort of their homes and families to mediate in jos and other African countries,you Guys are our heroes.jos crisis was ethnic crisis initially,the host community felt that their guest are not being loyal or respectful to them,this was what brought up the issue of ‘indigenous and settlers’the situation was not properly tackled so it degenerates to crisis.situation became worst when some elites that has interest in the crises succeeded in turning it to a religious crises and the religious flavor has been fueling the crisis.therefore,creating barrier between christians and Muslims in jos.Thank GOD the mediation process has made lot of people to understand it is not religious problem but ethnic problem.
